About the Knot
This Macrame coaster is made using the Square Knot and Alternating Square Knots, two of the most classic and versatile macrame knots.
The Square knot is one of the first knots most Macrame makers learn. It’s simple, sturdy, and creates a beautiful flat pattern that works in all kinds of projects, from wall hangings to keychains and coasters.
The Alternating Square knot builds on the same idea, but adds more movement and texture. By offsetting the knots in each row, you create a soft woven look that gives the coaster a balanced, even surface.
I love how these knots can come together to form something so timeless and cozy. Proof that simple techniques can make beautiful designs.
